January 2004 - Animax Asia, the first-ever channel
dedicated to highly popular Japanese animation (anime) programming 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, launches in Asia.
Backed by the power of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Animax Asia will bring
viewers across the region the latest and most popular anime programming
from Japan's top anime producers and studios.
With dedicated services each for Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South East Asia,
Animax Asia is set to become the destination channel the region.
Animax Asia has been conceptualized to be a channel of broad appeal for
anime fans of all ages, and general entertainment in nature. As the first
and only non-stop anime channel in Asia, Animax's programming will feature
top anime shows from Japan's leading studios and producers, including
programs never before seen outside of Japan and exclusive to Animax Asia,
as well as all-time classics and favourites.
Programmed for viewers of different ages and to best meet their viewing
preferences, the Animax Asia program schedule will feature 4 key time
blocks. Time blocks more suited to younger audience will feature dubbed
programs, and anime that appeals to youth and more mature audiences will
