 HBO Asia's second movie channel, CINEMAX, was launched in November 1996.
Like HBO, CINEMAX is a 24-hour channel that present more than 80 commercial-free movies every month. These are popular and entertaining movies.
In March 2003, CINEMAX was relaunched to be Asia's most exciting movie channel for hits, action and suspense. At prime time every night, CINEMAX guarantees viewer an enjoyable and entertaining movie.
 On CINEMAX, the exciting new anchored nights during prime time include See It Sunday where the channel premieres new exciting movies, back-to-back, every Sunday from 9pm (Sin).
On Saturdays, look out for Cinemax Superstars , showcasing movies staring some of Hollywood's biggest stars every Saturday night at 9pm (Sin).
On Thursdays, look out for ThrillerMax for suspense movies that will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats! And on Friday, ActionMAX brings viewers their weekly dose of thrill and spills with a strong line-up of action movies - all part of the channel's new Get Into The MAX Weekend offerings.
 CINEMAX screens films from major Hollywood studios and the best of independent producers from Asia, Australia, Europe, the U.S. and New Zealand. It licenses exclusive films from such major studios as Columbia/TriStar, Paramount, Universal and Warner Bros.; as well as major independent studios including Castle Rock Franchise, Morgan Creek, New Line, Screen Gems, Studio Canal and Village Roadshow.
CINEMAX, together with HBO, bring viewers the best of movie entertainment, offering over 600 new movies a year.
CINEMAX currently currently has over 3.4 million paying subscribers.
The channel is currently available in 18 countries - including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, The Philippine and Vietnam. Hotels and foreign housing compounds in China also receive CINEMAX. Closed-captioned subtitling is available on CINEMAX in Bahasa Indonesia, Chinese and Thai. |
